Capstone project for Vibe Coding: Build Apps with AI

Vibe-code a reorder app for partner shops

Ravi runs a partner corner shop and reorders the same items from Mangrove every week by phone, and about one phone order in twelve has to be corrected after delivery. Build him an app, mostly with AI tools, that remembers his usual order, lets him change it and send it in three taps, and shows his order history. Use sample products and at least two test shops. Write the spec first, build in small committed steps, set up sign-in and row-level access rules so a shop sees only its own orders, keep every secret key out of the code and the browser, deploy it, and keep a review log of what the AI got wrong.

What you hand in

  1. A one-page spec with users, screens, data, rules, acceptance checks and what is out of scope
  2. A deployed app with sign-in, and the repository with its commit history
  3. A review log: at least three things the AI got wrong, how you found each one and how you fixed it
  4. A short security check: what each test shop can read, where the keys live, and how you tested it

Check your work

Tick each item when your project meets it. Be strict: this is the rubric the reviewer uses.

  • The spec has users, screens, data, rules and acceptance checks, and the app does what the acceptance checks say
  • One shop cannot see or change another shop's orders, enforced by row-level access rules in the database and tested as two different users
  • No secret keys are in the code, the repository history or the browser; only the public key is used in the app
  • Changes were made in small, committed steps with clear messages
  • The review log names three real AI mistakes, how each was found, and the fix
  • Money is stored and added as whole cents, and sending an order twice by accident does not create two orders
  • The write-up says what an engineer should look at next before more shops use the app
