Install the app

Kolom works like an app on your phone and computer: its own icon, its own window, and courses you save work without a connection. Free, and no app store needed.

Android phone or tablet

  1. Open kolom.io in Chrome (or Edge, Samsung Internet).
  2. Tap Install when Kolom offers it, or open the browser menu ⋮ and tap Install app (on some phones: Add to Home screen).
  3. Tap Install. The Kolom icon appears with your other apps.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open kolom.io in Safari. From Facebook or Messenger, tap ··· and Open in browser first.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Scroll down, tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

Windows, Mac or Chromebook

  1. Open kolom.io in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar (a screen with a down arrow), or open the menu and choose Install Kolom (Edge: Apps → Install this site as an app).
  3. Kolom opens in its own window and gets a Start menu, taskbar or Dock icon. On a Mac with Safari 17 or newer: File → Add to Dock.

What you get

  • Opens straight into Kolom, full screen, without the browser’s address bar.
  • Pages you visited and courses you saved with “Save this course for offline” open without a connection; your progress syncs when you are back online.
  • Long-press the icon (Android) or right-click it (Windows) for shortcuts to Tools, Courses, Review and your Profile.
  • It is the same Kolom as the website: same account, same progress, always the latest version. Nothing extra to update.

Removing it

Remove it like any app: long-press the icon and choose Uninstall or Remove App; on a computer open Kolom and choose Uninstall from its window menu. Your account and progress stay safe. See cookies and storage for what the app keeps on your device.
